Busy Week//Beautiful Butterfly Card

This week has been absolutely insane with all of the prep for school, vacation, camping and just preparing for the end of summer. It has been a wild rollercoaster of a summer and I have loved every minute of it. With all the crafting that I've gotten to do and preparing for my new position at work, I'm surprised that I haven't lost my mind through all of this! I'm so crazy excited for what this week has in store for me and all the insanity that is coming with the Holidays quickly approaching.

My card for this week was a last minute card. I ended up waiting until an hour before I needed it to design it. Talk about some hardcore procrastination!

I used Concord and 9th Layering Butterfly Stamp and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide to create this beautiful and simple watercolor butterfly card.

I started out stamping the base layer with a mix of Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade. I mixed the two colors on the stamp itself. Then using water and a brush I mixed the two together. You can look at my Layered Poppy Card for more examples on how this technique is done. It's great for layering and solid stamps. Repeat this with the textured second layer but don't watercolor it. Just stamp with the blend of colors. Finally stamp the black layer over it all as well as the body

The background is done with the same oxide colors. I spread them on my craft mat and then added a lot of water and flicked it on with the paintbrush. Heat dry (or let it dry). Stamp with saying and add sequins.

So cute! So simple! So easy! So quick!

I love these kinds of cards!
